The New Canaan Field Club women's team won the New Canaan/Darien paddle
league. NCFC's team is captained by Diane Wooters and Lauren Bromberg and
coached by Mike Gillespie. These women play with a purpose!
Great Season for Port Washington Yacht Club
Port Washington Yacht Club campers are happy to report a great season with their E Team (formerly F) continuing their rise up through the ranks, winning their division and moving up to D.
The D team came in 4th so next season PWYC will be hosting two D Teams. And in a heartbreaker the C team, which had been leading the whole season lost the division by 1 point!
Can’t wait to continue on next season.
Reached the Finals in a PCQ!
Well, we can now add another student of your method to your list of success ... yes, I have just reached my first finals in a PCQ and am thrilled.
The thing that I notice the most is that I'm not physically exhausted the next day and my body is not screaming at me. I think this is because I'm in the right place on the court and not scrambling everywhere (most of the time). So thanks, Gerri and Mike, for making me much happier to be on the court.

We Made It To the Finals!
Gerri and Mike,
I need to tell you that the first thing I said to Jane Waslov, Lisa Barker, Mary Jo Williams and Laurie Hissey after the finals match was that it is a true tribute to Performace Paddle that the three of us, Lisa, Mary Jo and I, made it to the finals (Laurie has been in finals of tournaments in the past). The three of us started at your clinic last year and have never played better. You have slowed us down, allowing us to place the ball with a purpose ( not just "happy to hit"). I also noticed that I wasn't as tired as I usually was after a two day tournament. I now know where I should be and I stay there (at least I try to!!!)
Lisa and I beat two players in the semi finals that we have never beaten before. They have been champions of MAPTA, PA States and other tournaments several times. This is the second time Lisa and I have played a tournament together and we truly believe that your methods have helped us step up the level of our play.
I also teach the interclub teams at Martins Dam and have been teaching your methods. The players are very responsive and feel in better control. We will see how they improve.

The Children's Village Tournament Winners
Congratulations to Sue Tarzian and Carrie Strum for winning their first tournament of the year. The Children's Village tournament was held at The Fox Meadow Tennis Club in Scarsdale, NY.
It was a significant win for Sue and Carrie beating Region 1 President Cup member Susan Penny and Marina Ohlmueller in the quarter finals, followed by Barb Acosta and Anne Mackel in the semi's, and Region 1 President Cup members Judy Arden and Lisa Reach in the finals.
Sue and Carrie are big time tennis players who have made the transition over to paddle. They both are tennis pro's at Garden City Recreation Center in Garden City, NY and Sue is certified by the PPTA and is running the paddle program. (left to right - Carrie Strum and Sue Tarzian)
